How to clear browser cache for various web browsers and mobiles

Web browsers

Google Chrome

Desktop

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select More tools > Clear browsing data.

  4. At the top of the dialog box, select the time range for which you want to clear the cache. To clear everything, select All time.

  5. Make sure the box next to Cached images and files is checked.

  6. Click Clear data.

Mobile

  1. Open the Chrome app.

  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the app.

  3. Tap History.

  4. Tap Clear browsing data.

  5. At the top of the dialog box, select the time range for which you want to clear the cache. To clear everything, select All time.

  6. Make sure the box next to Cached images and files is checked.

  7. Tap Clear data.

Mozilla Firefox

Desktop

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Click the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select History > Clear recent history.

  4. At the top of the dialog box, select the time range for which you want to clear the cache. To clear everything, select Everything.

  5. Make sure the box next to Cached images and files is checked.

  6. Click Clear now.

Mobile

  1. Open the Firefox app.

  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the app.

  3. Tap History.

  4. Tap Clear recent history.

  1. Open the Edge app.

  2. Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of the app.

  3. Tap Settings > Privacy and security.

  4. Under Clear browsing data, tap Clear now.

  5. Make sure the box next to Cached images and files is checked.

  6. Tap Clear now.

Safari

Desktop

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Click the Safari menu in the top menu bar.

  3. Select Preferences.

  4. Click the Advanced tab.

  5. Check the box next to Show Develop menu in menu bar.

  6. Click the Develop menu in the top menu bar.

  7. Select Empty Caches.

Mobile

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap Safari.

  3. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.

  4. Tap Clear History and Data.

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Apps or Application Manager.

  3. Swipe to the All tab.

  4. Find and tap your web browser app.

  5. Tap Storage or Storage & cache.

  6. Tap Clear cache.

iOS
